The Philippines is one of the most vulnerable countries with Climate change, we already witnessed that during Typhoon Haiyan and Bopha. Aside from its geographical location, the Philippine’s socio-economic conditions of poor farmers, poor indigenous people and the broad masses contribute to such vulnerability.
We in MASIPAG, we do our best to promote agroecology because one of the contributor of climate change is the increasing production and use of synthetic chemicals. We in MASIPAG believe that agroecology is the way to combat the effects of climate disasters as it provides socio-economic improvements of farmers and peoples’ lives here in the Philippines.
The youth as the one who will be carrying over the future, it is the task of the youth to join and conduct advocacy works. Here in the Philippines we are organizing, doing discussion work, advocacy to call for climate justice.
As part of the global action for Climate Strike, MASIPAG will be organizing an international Youth Conference for Agroecology in the Visayas region. It will be participated by various youth organization all over the globe to campaign for climate justice.
We would like to invite you to join the global strike for climate justice.
