Today the Bantay Bigas coalition submitted to the House of Representatives the petition calling for the repeal of the Republic Act 11203 or the Rice Tariffication Law. The petition was signed by more than 50,000 individuals showing that there is a public outcry against the liberalization of the rice industry.
On November 18, the group, which also includes MASIPAG, will submit the petition to the Senate of the Philippines.
