Three Farmers’ Field Days (FFD) were successfully held in various parts of Albay with the member NGO Tarabang Para sa Bicol (TABI). While in Camarines Sur, members of the newly established LaPIOFA farmers’ organization in barangays La Purisima and Palsong Bula, Camarines Sur, led their FFD. The FFDs were attended by fellow farmers, leaders, and cooperatives, as well as LGU and partner NGOs.
With fruitful and good results, farmers’ organizations once again announced the conduct of the trial for the wet season.
The purpose of the FFDs was to enable farmers to select ten seeds based on their criteria—from yield quantity, pest and disease resistance, and other characteristics of rice from the 50 varieties of rice on their trial farm.
